HIFU stands for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound and is the very latest technology in non-invasive, non-surgical skin tightening and has been hailed as a ‘revolution’ in the world of skincare and aesthetics.
At GLOW, we use the Ultra 4D device. The Ultra 4D is the latest new release non-surgical anti-ageing and body sculpting HIFU machine which can be used for face & body skin tightening as well as targeted fat reduction. It’s the best there is on the market.
HIFU treatments can significantly lift and tighten the skin on the face, neck, stomach, arms… the possibilities are endless, and we’ve already had some fantastic results at GLOW.
HIFU can also reduce puffiness, reduce the signs of ageing and improve the tone of the skin in a single session – with long-lasting effects that can last up to five years!
HIFU vs Surgery
With HIFU treatment there is absolutely no downtime, you can go straight back to work or go about your day after your session. And you’ll be leaving the salon looking visibly younger too – results are almost immediate, and the skin will continue to tighten for another 4-6 weeks following your visit to GLOW.
There are no needles and no anaesthetic – in fact, there’s nothing sharp at all and the treatment is completely pain-free. Some clients may experience some mild redness and tenderness following their treatment, but this usually clears up in a couple of days.
You only need one session of HIFU to see amazing results – although sometimes a top up is recommended to get the most out of the treatment we can for you.
And, unlike surgery and other cosmetic procedures, HIFU is affordable! Lower abdomen lifts, which can work well for ‘mum tums’ and to tighten the excess left by weight loss, start at just £299.
What areas can be treated?
HIFU is suitable for most areas of the face, neck and body – and the possibilities can be endless. Some common problem areas that be effectively treated are:
- Forehead frown lines
- Eyebrows
- Crow’s Feet
- Cheeks
- Double chins
- Sagging neck
- Lower abdomen
- ‘Bingo wings’
What to expect
The actual treatment time can vary from 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the area being worked on. In addition to your treatment time, all procedures include a consultation and skin analysis and a quick patch test to make sure your skin is suitable for the treatment.
After your HIFU session, you may have some mild redness and tenderness – but this only lasts a couple of days.
How does HIFU work?
HIFU technology is completely unique and there’s nothing else like it on the market.
HIFU uses multiple beams of ultrasound, which individually would not normally affect the tissue, however, when they come together to cause the deep layers of the skin to contract and tighten, while also forming new collagen fibres.
HIFU has the ability to penetrate the dermis and the superficial muscular layer of the skin. No other technology can target these layers deep within the skin in a non-invasive, needle-free procedure.
The superficial muscular layer of the skin is the same layer that is tightened during conventional facelift surgery, but unlike surgery, HIFU is more affordable and requires no time off work.
